When Georg Miksik founded "POLMONT GmbH Metall-Guss-Bearbeitung" in Remscheid in 1991, he himself probably had little idea that within three decades the company would develop from a small contract processor with a handful of employees into a recognized surface finisher and renowned casting system supplier with 60 employees today.
However, the entrepreneur, born in Upper Silesia, laid the foundation for this himself by establishing "POLMONT GmbH G. Miksik" in 1994, when he decided not only to process metal parts on a contract basis but also to offer them to his customers as a one-stop solution. The situation after German reunification in the early 1990s made the production of aluminum and zinc die-cast items in Poland particularly attractive for German customers, especially in terms of pricing. This consequently marked the beginning of the first tool and mold relocations to Polish foundries.
At the turn of the millennium, Georg Miksik acquired the former tool manufacturing division of Thyssen, including its approximately 20-strong workforce from Wuppertal. This led to the creation of "POLMONT GmbH Tool Manufacturing," which simultaneously marked the launch of in-house production of die-casting molds for customer orders. In 2001, all three independent POLMONT companies moved under one roof into the newly built facility in Radevormwald. The term "POLMONT Group" was coined, uniting the three individual companies under one name. Today, the group has expanded internationally with a subsidiary in Poland and joint-venture partners in Poland, Spain, China, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Turkey, positioning itself as a strong global player in the corporate network.
