Aluminum Sand-Casting is a common gravity casting process used to produce small to very large aluminum cast parts with complex geometries.
In our process, molten aluminum is usually poured by hand into a mold made of compressed furan sand. The shape of the component is first created using wooden patterns.
Furan sand is a special mixture of quartz sand and furan resin, which is hardened through a catalytic reaction. It gives our components a smoother surface finish and finer texture compared to aluminum sand cast parts made with conventional clay-bonded sand.
Additionally, Furan Sand-Casting contributes to improved strength, corrosion resistance, and castability. Thanks to low tooling costs, the sand casting process is also ideal for producing prototypes and one-off parts.
